A piece of southern Spain, at home in the Swan Valley.
Our Estate.
The Castel León estate sits on an elevated block in Herne Hill, overlooking the Swan River and the valley floor below. The residence was built by Mike in the style of Andalucía, the whitewashed architecture of southern Spain that has stayed with him since his first visit. At the rear of the house, a pavilion modelled on a water feature from the Alhambra Palace in Granada completes the picture. It is a personal place, built with intention, and the wine it produces reflects that same care.
"I bought a bottle of the Cabernet Shiraz as a gift for my father and he called me the same evening to say it was one of the best wines he had tasted in years. We have since ordered several cases between us and it has become something of a family tradition to open a bottle at Sunday dinner."
